The small communities of Halstad and Warren, Minn., may soon be welcoming their first public electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. Halstad Municipal Utilities and Marshall County were awarded seed grants from Clean Energy Resource Teams (CERTs), two among 74 grants given to energy efficiency and renewable energy projects across the state.
A $5,000 grant will help Halstad Municipal Utilities install a Level 2 charging station in downtown Halstad, near the town’s “World’s Largest Sugar Beet” statue. It’s still unclear what Marshall County’s plans will be for its $4,000 charging station award.
